Targeted protection where ticks strike first. Ticks climb. That’s why we designed these Tick Socks to create a physical barrier right where ticks are most likely to latch on: your feet, ankles and lower legs.

Made from ShrugBug’s breathable, lightweight mesh, these over-socks help block ticks from reaching your skin while still allowing airflow and comfort. Wear them alone or pair them with shorts, hiking boots, or ShrugBug pants for added peace of mind during high-tick seasons. No sprays. No chemicals. Just smart, wearable coverage.

Why you’ll love them

  • Designed to help block tiny ticks from the tip of your toes to mid-thigh. Blocks most nymph ticks too!
  • Breathable, lightweight mesh for airflow and comfort.
  • No added insecticides or chemical treatments.
  • Wear them over your socks and inside your shoes! Easy to wear with boots, sneakers, or outdoor shoes.
  • Wear them as knee socks, above the knee socks, or extend them all the way up to thigh height. At knee height, ticks will have to navigate all the folds to get to the top.
  • Ideal for hiking, gardening, yard work, travel, and everyday outdoor wear.

Good to Know

  • Ticks climb, so you can see the ticks on the white mesh and brush them off.
  • These socks can be worn on their own or layered with other ShrugBug gear.
  • Designed to be worn like socks (inside your shoes). Layer with socks underneath for the best comfort.
  • One size fits most - check our size guide for the upper thigh width at most extended section.
  • These feature a cotton casing with elastic + a lock cord at the top of each sock so they stay in place.
  • Sold as a pair.
  • Made of 98% polyester mesh, 2% cotton
  • Machine wash on cold, lay flat to dry.

Great idea

I’ve tried them on and I’m thrilled. I live in New England and cough these for warm weather when I will have bare legs that hasn’t happened yet but will soon. I can’t wait to try them out.

Ok, these are fantastic! Simple, actually comfortable, and they seem pretty sturdy too. We're in the country and I always end up with ticks when I go out. I'm going to add some double-sided tape to the ankles but I'm so excited to have something for my feet cause they always manage to get in my shoes. Thanks for making these!

Tick Socks

I think the tick socks are very well made. The netting is soft enough to be comfortable in my shoes, yet durable for outdoor use. The socks are long so they go up over my knees. The elastic seams on the front and back of the socks provides flexibility for activities such as stooping or squatting. The draw string at the top of the socks is sturdy and easily adjustable. The socks did slide down a bit on me because I have very thin legs. I can see how the socks would be very useful, if a person didn't want to wear a full pair of pants.
