It Works Like a Screen Porch For Your Body

We use a very fine mesh fabric (noseeum grade) that keeps insects from being able to fly or crawl through the holes of the fabric. It uses the pocket of air between your skin and the fabric to create a natural barrier to keep insects away from your skin. It is insecticide-free and offers another layer of protection against mosquitoes, ticks, noseeums, black flies and more. It can be used on its own or in combination with more traditional mosquito repellents.

What to Consider

This gear is made from materials that are easy to clean and will survive multiple washes and most of the elements of nature. Because of this, it is more cost-effective option than conventional insect repellents as you do not have continue to replace/repurchase.

Please keep in mind that there is no solution that saves you from insect bites in every situation. Although the right clothing can play an important part in your plan to avoid insect bites, nothing can guarantee you 100% protection. For instance, if the netting is tight against your skin it will not provide proper insect protection. So, don't be afraid to size up, as it will increase the pocket of air between you and the insect. You can also use Mozzie Style gear in combination with other repellents like traditional DEET spray, essential oils, etc.

Why Insecticide-Free?

A lot of the mosquito net clothing on the market today is treated with Permethrin which is an insecticide, not a repellent. That means that it KILLS all insects. It is toxic to pollinating insects like bees, butterflies and other insects you come into contact with. Without pollinating insects, the plants we grow in our gardens or on local farms cannot complete the pollination process and produce fruits or vegetables.

Permethrin is the only insecticide approved by the EPA for the treatment of fabric/clothing. However, mosquitoes are evolving and are becoming resistant to Permethrin, which can make it completely ineffective against mosquitoes in overused locations. With this in mind, we develop products that can be used on their own or in combination with repellents to better protect our environment.
