Does it really work?
Yes! Our gear is made from breathable mosquito net mesh and offers insecticide-free protection. If it floats, it protects. If it clings, mosquitoes can bite through. In extreme heat/humidity, pairing it with repellent is recommended (spray it right on the gear, so you don't sweat it off).

Which insects does this help with?
Does it work for mosquitoes?
Yes, as long as the fabric isn’t pressed tightly against your skin. We recommend sizing up for the best coverage.

Does it work for ticks (even the tiny ones)?
Yep! Tuck your pant cuffs into your socks for best results.

What about noseeums?
Yes, many customers specifically purchase our gear to keep noseeums at bay.
How about black flies and horse flies?
Yes! Our jackets, pants and hats are very effective against biting flies.
Will This Keep Every Mosquito Off Me in 100°F?
ShrugBug gear creates a physical barrier that mosquitoes can’t bite through - as long as the mesh stays off your skin. That’s why we recommend a looser fit. If it clings (especially when you’re sweaty), that barrier disappears. For extreme buggy conditions (like gardening in 98°F+), we suggest spraying the gear with a repellent and going for a rinse and reset mid-day.

Can I wash it? How should I care for it?
Yes! We recommend using the gentle cycle in cold water and air drying to keep your gear in great shape.
Is this safe for kids?
Yes! We do have a specific mosquito net set just for kids. Feel free to contact us for sizing help.
NOTE: We don't recommend the blanket for use by children as the wiring could be a choking hazard.
Where is your gear made?
The majority of our gear is ethically manufactured in India by partners who share our commitment to quality and sustainability. Some of our accessories come from China, the U.S. and other parts of the world.
Do you use any additional chemicals or insecticides?
No way! All of our gear is 100% insecticide-free and safe for sensitive skin.
Are you a Chinese owned Company?
No, we are small, privately owned start-up business based in the U.S. All our gear is made to order to our designs and specifications. When you buy from us you are supporting a small U.S. based company, not a conglomerate or a large corporation.
