Just purchased and used the “socks” with the “pants” in tall grasses, low shrubs & forested areas. Overall, I do like these products but anticipate that I’ll need to repurchase these items more frequently than I had hoped. I think if you intend to use these for recreational activities (eg, picnic, playing on a lawn, or hiking where you only occasionally rub against vegetation), they’d work great. But if you intend to use them to work with or among plants, they will be snagged & torn. (I expected this but was hoping I’d be wrong.) So in the latter case, you’d have to be aware of where those tears are each time you use them so you can keep an eye on yourself for ticks approaching the openings. (Still better than having nothing!! And more healthy than dousing yourself or your clothes with deet or permethrin!) The only other downside is that to kill ticks on your clothes, you have to wash them in hot water (recommend strong detergent with a soak cycle) & dry them in a dryer for at least 70-80min on HIGH heat. You can’t wash or dry these products like that. They require a delicate wash cycle and air dry. So, while you can see some ticks, seed & nymph ticks are going to be more difficult to find and remove from the product & therefore, may get on you, your pets or in your house when you handle or store these items. (You could spray these with bug spray but then you can’t wash the spray out as that requires more powerful detergent in a normal wash cycle. In other words, the residue of these chemicals would likely remain on the products so you’d need to be mindful of that when you handle them so you don’t touch kids, pets, food or your eyes afterwards.)

While the pants portion is great. The waist is ridiculously tight. I can barely get it over my hips and it’s very tight at the waist.
I got Large and usually wear a size 8/10 pants…. waist 37”, hips 40”.
I’ve considered cutting the waist band cause I don’t want the hassle of sending them back… we shall see the more I wear them.

They work very well. Only thing I would do differently is to due elastic or a cuff (like on the jacket) at the ankle instead of ribbon. The ribbon drags on the ground, can come untied and is a tripping hazard.

I bought these pants for gardening in my backyard and for when I travel to certain exotic destinations like Bali and India. I love how wide the legs are so you dont feel the fabric on your skin. Plus they layer over my clothes comfortably. The waistband is a bit small. I would disagree that these styles run large for women. But you probably don't want the waist band too comfortable as the bugs might get in. Depending on your geographic area it might not be a concern in which one would size up. I probably would have got the large instead of the medium, but it's fine. I ended up getting a large jacket in a separate order which I'm waiting for, but I would say the styles run small for women and even smaller for the men. I guess it's personal preference, but I personally would not want to feel the net on my skin. It's not terrible, but it's not organic cotton either. The piont is it serves its purpose in a quite fashionable way. I prefer the light color options myself.

In the hot months of mosquito season it is nice to wear the wide leg pants and top with shorts & a t-shirt. It is especially nice when distracted by gardening or in the evening when mosquitoes are hard to see. We are able to be outside again even after a warm summer rain when the skeeters are fierce.
